As a family run business, we’re passionate about making sure that our cycling store caters for everyone. That’s why we always ensure our store is fully stocked with a good selection of children’s bikes suitable for children up to the age of 10 or 12. And, with options starting for children aged as young as two years old, we’re able to help families enjoy cycling together sooner.

Types of Children’s Bikes

Balance bikes are the perfect first bike option for your children. Unlike traditional bikes, they don’t come with pedals or drivetrain because they are designed for children aged around 18 months and the primary purpose of them is to help your child develop balance and steering skills ready for when they start learning to ride.
Pavement bikes are simply bikes designed for younger children to ride on smooth surfaces such as paths, drives, parks etc. These types of bikes are designed in a way which incorporates the size, strength and ability of young children, and so you’ll find they often come with additional safety features and have different wheel diameter options.
Children’s Mountain bikes are perfect for those children with a little more experience in riding who are beginning to show an interest in riding off road. They share many features with adult mountain bikes, but these are scaled down to suit younger riders' needs, ensuring safety, control, and comfort. These include suspension, wider tyres, a gear system, handlebar grips and robust braking systems.
Children's hybrid bikes are bikes designed for children that blend features from road bikes, mountain bikes, and sometimes even touring bikes. This mix of characteristics allows hybrid bikes to perform well on a variety of surfaces, including paved roads, gravel paths, and light trails. They're an excellent choice for children who enjoy cycling in different environments but don't need the specialised capabilities of a pure road bike or mountain bike.
